Directions to get to Marchmont Gardens
“We came out of the bush after five days walking the Old Ghost Road, footsore and weary, and into the lap of luxury with the warmest of welcomes. What a lovely place to stay. On the main road in to Hanmer Springs you will pass a service station on the left hand side. Shortly after that you will come to an intersection. Veer left following the sign to the Golf Club. You will be on Argelins Road. You will come to a short rise. At the top of that you veer left and then the road veers right.
We are on the left hand side, just after the right hand veer. There will be two letter boxes at the top of our driveway for 123 and 125 Argelins Road. There is a sign above the letter boxes.
Proceed down the driveway to the very end. You start on an asphalt driveway and end on a shingle driveway.
The studio apartments are on the right hand side of the shingle driveway. The first studio is Mt Isobel, and the second Mt Dunblane. Both are clearly signed.
There is car parking beside your studio apartment. Park your car there, and then come a bit further up the driveway to the front door of our house to register. If we are not in the house, take a wander around the garden. We will be on the property somewhere.
Please do not ask at the house off the asphalt driveway as they are not part of Marchmont Gardens.
Hanmer Springs is situated: 4 hours from Picton; 1hr 45 from Kaikoura; 1hr 50 from Christchurch; 4.5 hours from Nelson.
A one minute stroll to the Golf Club and first tee, two minute walk to the driving range and mini putt, a leisurely fifteen minutes to the village and soak in the Thermal Pools, dine in fine restaurants and cafes and experience the wonderful array of shopping.
